As the Fall Athletics season is just about to start and school is ramping up for the first day SDJA welcomes Nate Solow back to the Athletics Office as our new Athletics Director!
Coach Solow is originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico and moved to San Diego to play Baseball at San Diego State University. First coming on board at SDJA as a Baseball Coachin 2010, Solow soon moved into the role of associate athletic director for 5 years under Coach Hill before COVID 19 shut everything down. Now, being back as AD, Solow says, “I am excited to keep building our program in the direction of her vision, with the principles and culture that she helped create.”
Getting his Masters in Athletic Administration and Exercise Science at Concordia University Coach Solow is ready with the energy and innovation the SDJA Athletics department needs. Getting the coaches here at SDJA on the same page to give kids the best athletics experience possible he says this,
“Some main characteristic traits that I would like to focus on teaching this year will be how to develop relationships, commitment to a team, accountability and dependability, overcoming limitations, and how to handle victory and defeat.”
And “Although we strive to have competitive teams with good size rosters and retention, as we all know, there is so much more for a student to learn on athletic grounds that can shape them for life.”
With all the sports seasons back to normal, Coach Solow in the AD seat and all the excitement of starting school, SDJA Athletics is all geared up for a fantastic year! Go Lions!
