SDJA Boys Golf has done it again! For the second year in a row Boys Golf claims the the Pacific League Champions Title. In the last few years the team has continued to grow in interest and talent proving to be one of the upcoming programs to beat. The team finished their League matches with a record of 13-1 and an overall record of 13-2. Josh Posnock was one of the 3 seniors on the team who came in as low man 5 times and there are a good number of underclassman who contributed the teams low scores- Junior Jonathan Cohen came in as low man 4 times and Sophomore Andrew Abeles came in as low man 7 times! Senior Sam Trackman had a few words to say about his senior season with the team,
"It's awesome to have won league twice in a row, especially for my senior year and my last year playing competitive golf- it was really cool to take the chip. I think we're all super excited but the most excited is definitely Hagerman, he's been dreaming about this since last year."
Coach Patrick Hagerman says of his team and season this year,
"It was an amazing regular season. Things were looking dire after starting the season off 1-2 in our first week. But the guys rallied and ran off 12 straight wins over the next 5 weeks. The season culminated with two strong wins over our toughest opponents, Army Navy Academy and Maranatha Christian. Senior Captain Josh Posnock and Sam Trackman led the charge as they wrapped up their SDJA Golf careers with their best match scores ever.
As we head off to spring break, we will miss those two leaders and pillars of the team. But the rest of the guys are excited to come back from break ready for Laegue Finals and CIF Qualification Matches."
Congrats Boys Golf and Go Lions!
